Psalm 3 – Trouble!

What do you do in troubled times?

David was experiencing great trial when he turned to God in prayerful song. In the middle of a rebellion against his leadership as king, led by his own son and trusted counselor, he looked to God to be his shield and salvation.

What King David did is a great example to us when we face great trials and afflictions:

• As David did, we can honestly talk to God about our problem – vs.1-2

• As David did, we can look to God for help, knowing that He will hear – vs.3-4

• As David did, we can sleep knowing that God is in control – vs.5-6

• As David did, we can trust God for deliverance – vs.7-8

The question for ourselves is will we be honest with ourselves and God, will we look to God for help, will we sleep, and will we trust God? It is our choice to do so!

What will you choose when great trouble comes your way?
