March Pastor’s Chat
The truth that God is faithful should bring hope and confidence into our everyday lives. This confidence is not a self-sufficient dependence on our own abilities—for we know how frail and weak we really are!— but a confidence in our God to help, strengthen, and enable us in the midst of temptations and trials. The writer to the Hebrews brings forth this truth in two encouraging passages.
First, in Hebrews 10:23 we are admonished to “hold fast the profession of our hope without wavering.” Then in parentheses the writer adds, “for he is faithful that promised.” Our God who promised us eternal life and forgiveness of sin through Christ is faithful. Furthermore, our faithful God can be approached in prayer in our times of need (Hebrews 4:14-16). He has promised a way of escape in every temptation
(1 Corinthians 10:13). His faithfulness enables us to hold on to our confession that we are Christians—disciples of Jesus Christ. When you are weak, focus your eyes on your faithful God; He will surely help!
Secondly, in the great faith chapter, in Hebrews 11:11 we read of Abraham’s wife: “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.” Are there some promises of God that you have not acted upon because of your unbelief? God wants you to repent of your faithlessness and trust Him. Confess this lack of trust and ask God to help you to judge Him faithful because He promised.
God is faithful; therefore, we should be faithful to Him. Will you be? By His grace you can! “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

Selected Bible Verses on God’s Faithfulness!
Isaiah 11:1-5, “ And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.”
Psalm 119:137- 138, “Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments. Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful.”
Hebrews 2:17-18, “Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.”
Hebrews 10:22-25, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
Hebrews 11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
